Dan Spaid
President
Dan Spaid is a Colorado native born in Grand Junction and spending most of his life on the Western Slope. He is retired from Mesa County Road and Bridge where he worked 15 years as a heavy equipment operator. Prior to that he was employed by City Market as a truck driver for 23 years. He joined the MCSP about 5 years ago and is currently president of the organization. He assists with the gymkhanas, security details and community support events. Dan's favorite pastimes include family camping outings, hunting, fishing, traveling, and most of all enjoying our beautiful state from the back of his mule.
Darrell Charlesworth
1st Vice President
Darrell has been a posse member for two years. He is currently the Fire Chief​ with the Mesa County Fire Authority, having retired from Grand Valley Fire in 2021 as a lieutenant. He worked for City Market for 30 years and retired from there in 2006. In his free time, Darrell enjoys trail rides, hunting, fishing and being with his family.
Jeff Fury
2nd Vice President
This former Farm Kid, Marine, Truck Driver, and now a Diesel mechanic has had a lot of adventures and travel in his life. Some of his favorite times have been spent with the Mesa County Sheriff's Posse. Being able to help in the Grand Valley community has been a rewarding adventure, for sure. The generosity of the people of the Grand Valley never fails to surprise, especially during the annual food drive. Riding in Parades on his horse, Pardner has also been very rewarding and he is looking forward to many more years alongside his fellow Posse members.
Jeff Wright
3rd Vice President
Oregon born and raised; Jeff moved to the Grand Valley in 1999. He worked in the local construction and dirt work industry before heading to the oil field for over 15 years. A former over the road truck driver and local delivery driver, he now spends his workweek coordinating truck drivers and the deliveries of heavy equipment for his employer. Jeff’s pastimes include spending time with his family in the great outdoors, coyote hunting, hiking, and fishing. As well as, working around his family’s small little farm in Loma (ask him how many miles of fence around their two acres he has built, torn down and rebuilt), and volunteering at various events for MCSP.
TJ Reece
Treasurer
Born and raised in Gunnison, CO, TJ grew up hunting, fishing and ranching and loves the outdoors. He moved to the Valley in 1982 and married his beautiful wife Linda in 1980. TJ worked for City Market 43 years, retired in 2019 and has owned a farm in Loma since 1989 with my partner in crime (fellow Posse Member) Donnie Wynkoop. That is where he spends a lot of his time. He has been involved with several nonprofits over years, was on the Board of Directors for Partners, the Business Advisory Board for SPECTRA and joined MCSP in 2021. He enjoys giving back to the community and all we do with the Sheriff's Posse. And yes he has been Sky Diving!
Bonnie Stiner
Secretary
Bonnie has been a posse member for 24 years with great memories over those years & is looking forward to more in the future. She and her horse, HarleyBrown enjoy rides through the canyons in the wintertime and the mountains in the summertime. Bonnie is on her 24th year serving our American Veterans with the Veterans Health Administration.
Rich Idler
Board Member
Rich is a Colorado Native and grew up in Fruita. He is a big game guide and ranch hand for Powell 4A Mountain Outfitters. Additionally, he works at City Market as a District Human Resource Manager.
Bob Johnston
Board Member
Bob has been a member of the Sheriff Posse since 1982. He has assisted in search and rescue, gymkhanas, ropings, and community events.
Doug Lucas
Board Member
Born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado, Doug is a second generation Posse member. His father, Jack Lucas was one of the founding members from 1957. Doug has been a Posse member for many years, serving as a board member and as president. He retired from the Grand Junction Fire Department as the Investigations Coordinator / EOD after 17 years of service. When not involved in Posse activities Doug enjoys volunteering as a hunting guide/teacher for the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Hunter Outreach program.
